The idea of a water powered car sounds like something out of the popular cartoon “The Jetsons”. If we agree to this idea, it seems as though flying cars are the next step. Yet there are many people who claim that they have one of these vehicles, and use it everyday. Experts though claim that science has not yet found a way to create a water powered car, and until they do, individuals should avoid these systems.

Water powered cars may be more of a reality than we previously thought was possible. Faced with pressure from environmental groups, scientists and automobile manufacturers began searching for alternate fuels, and ways to make cars run without using gasoline. The gasses that are emitted from regular fuel run vehicles do a significant amount of damage to the earth every year. The gasses are causing the ozone layer to break down, causing the smog to grow stronger, and contributing to a large number of breathing problems. Scientists are attempting to fix these problems by working on creating a water powered car.

If history and technology are any indication, we are only a few short years away from seeing individuals unveil a water powered car. This car may roll into showrooms or appear as a concept car before 2010 or 2015, especially if the creators can focus their thoughts and ideas. It was only a few decades ago that the idea of a car powered by electricity seemed like an impossibility. Yet we have all seen actor Ed Beagly Jr. tooling around in his electric powered car. The same holds true for the idea of a hybrid car, one that runs on a combination of solar power or electric power, and gasoline. Once upon a time it seemed as though this idea would never be a reality yet the first hybrid cars in the US have already rolled off the line.

A water powered car is something that we will definitely see within our own lifetime, and probably within the next few years. As gas prices keep rising, scientists and car manufacturers are eager to find alternate vehicles that will keep shopper returning with their wallets. Included in their ideas is the idea of a water powered car.
