If you polled 100 individuals, and asked them if they would run a car on water instead of using gasoline if it was possible, at least 90 of those individuals would answer with a resounding yes. Who could blame them? It seems as though every time we pull up to the gas pump, we are met with a startling site. A single gallon of gasoline has now passed the $3.50 mark, and it some parts of the country it is nearing $4 a gallon. That is a good reason to make the switch to the idea to run a car on water.

If we could run a car on water we could save on gas every single day. There are many people in this country who cannot afford to fill up their car as often as they need to, and many people are looking into other options. It used to be possible for drivers to fill up their car every time they went to the gas station. Now those same individuals are putting in only $10-20 at a time, just enough to make it to work and back for a few days. These individuals would be far more willing to run a car on water than to stick with those gas prices.

Another advantage to the idea that we can run a car on water is that we can work on saving the environment. Every day we are doing damage to the world, and nearly every day we are finding ways to limit our effect on the globe. To run a car on water would only add to that. In the 1990's it was the use of aerosol cans that were found to damage the environment. In response companies switched to different bottles and cans. Now that cars have been shown to cause even more damage, companies are looking at different ideas including the idea that we can  run cars on water.

To run a car on water requires some way to convert the water into gas or steam. Steam power is something that humans have used for years, since the first steam engines were created in the 1800's. Some opponents have pointed out, and rightly so too, that we are taking a step back in terms of technology. By using this idea, we are effectively disregarding the decades that it took to create a fuel powered car.

Those who do want to run a car on water have the option to do so, just as they have the option of choosing an electric powered car, a hybrid vehicle, or even a van that runs on solar power. However, the idea that we can run a car on water is something that is still a few years, or even decades away from being perfected.
